I think I have a problem

Aahhh... the written word. I love it on so many levels. I enjoy trying my hand at it, but mostly I love to lose myself in a good book.

Some of my favorites are the classics. ‘A tale of Two Cities’, ‘Jane Eyre’, ‘Wuthering Heights’, and ‘Count of Monte Cristo’. But more specifically I LOVE Jane Austen. I’ve read all seven of her books, and 6 biographies because I just can’t get enough. (Don’t get me started on Becoming Jane... Good movie, BUT NOT TRUE! See! I said don’t get me started!!) O.k. so I’ve read her books. Not once, not twice, but three times. Some of them like ‘Persuasion’ ‘Sense and Sensibility’, ‘Mansfield Park’, and ‘Pride and Prejudice’ closer to 6 times.

This you can imagine is VERY time consuming. It’s not easy reading and say... doing the dishes, or folding laundry, or vacuuming. So what have I resorted to? Buying the movies, DUH.

I slip one of those DVD’s in and BAM! I can get house work done, AND get my ‘fix’. The saying is true “the book was better than the movie.” But hey, a chocolate lover doesn’t turn down a Snickers Bar because it’s not a turtle cluster. My latest need?? Twilight. Which I am waiting patiently for Netflix to send me... o.k. not so patiently. But it’s not enough!! I want it all NOW. Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn! NOW!! Sigh. Well, until then, I’ll just have to be satisfied with the Youtube videos... oh, my sister does have the books on CD.

Ooo! I like your pictures for this one!!! And I am a fellow Jane Austen fan! I still get thrills everytime I reach the parts at the end that make it all worth it (like Darcy and Elizabeth finally confessing their love to each other or Edward and Elinor or Fanny and Edward or...hee hee!).

I HATED, HATED Becoming Jane. I felt it was the National Enquirer version of her life. SO off base. hated it.

Did I get you started?

I am a film nerd. I love watching the director's commentary version when dvds come out. One of my favorites is Pride and Prejudice (the newest version). My least favorite of all time is Twilight. The director AND Edward are idiots. Typically, watching the commentary makes me appreciate the film more and you learn a lot of fun facts, but the Twilight commentary made me want to never see the movie again. Good thing New Moon has a new director!
