Whoever said dieting was easy??

Oh, I’m not talking about the food restrictions, or the hunger pains, or crankiness due to the previous ailments.

No, I’m talking about the other struggles. Like trying to wrestle around my 2yo so ‘mommy can have a turn on the tramp’. Or listening to her cry for the 20min I’m on said tramp because she wants to jump with me and I wont let her.

Or when I sit down to eat my premeasured amount of food for lunch that I’m REALLY excited to eat and again the 2yo is there wanting to eat every bite with me, and I don’t have the heart to turn her away because it doesn’t hurt for her to eat a little more healthy.

Or when I fix dinner for the kids, and myself. Mine being the dry tuna sandwich on whole wheat bread with steamed broccoli on the side, and they don’t want theirs, they want mine, so instead of eating I have to go make more when I’m STARVING!

And that was all just yesterday, the first day!

Oh, and read my post on another blog I write at for more about my diet!

Oh! I feel your pain! Dieting is not for the faint of heart...or mommies. Those kids just don't get it do they?? Keep it up lady!!! You can do it! BTW, so sorry to hear about your grandma!

I call it "baby bird syndrome" when my kids flock around me and want whatever unappealing thing I'm eating when they can have chips, sandwiches and pudding. Other than that, how's the diet going?

I bet a lot of the 6 lbs was poop. ha ha ha. i'm so funny (and gross).

Hang in there Teresa, it's TOTALLY worth it. Why not just fix your kids the healthy stuff too? If they don't eat, then they go hungry. It's tough at first, but you're teaching them something that will have a significant impact on how they live their lives and their health in the future. (I know I'm preaching now) Don't teach them that "eating healthy" or a "diet" are just things you do when you want to lose weight. Change your lifestyle. Eat healthy and use portion control bcs it's the best thing to do for your health.

there, i'm off my soapbox now.
Enjoy your diet, lifestyle change

I agree with Miss M, make it a family thing. It will make it easier for you and the kids.

Congrats and good luck.
